Hah, that’s an excellent reason to go with a bad idea. “I suddenly had a bad attack of empty head, no thoughts.” And an excellent analysis of the duo by Rio as well. Almost suspiciously odd of Jim to write it that way.
I give it good odds Beckett and crew are gonna stab Chi’ra in the back again. Chi’ra and Chewbacca will make it to the end of the movie of course (prequel movie and all), but that’s no guarantee it’ll be a smooth ride there.

Rio: You know, we could always use some muscle on a job like this.
Beckett: What about the Wookiee?
Rio: Well, we could use some brains too.
Val: Don’t even think about it.
Beckett: All right, Rio, pick them up.
Val: I told you not to think about it!
Beckett: I didn’t! That’s why we’re picking them up!
