Definitely looking like it could be a movie about leaving the planet at this point with all the barriers that keep popping up. Even if it’s comic text only, there’s only so much pictures can gloss over after a point.
And wow. So much for my guess of only looking out for himself. Frankly it’s a wonder there wasn’t anything more obvious done for backstabbing in the comic in the original trilogy, but that’s the limitation of the medium. That’s a great set of faces by Qi’ra there too; it captures the slow realization that something’s not right so well.

Falthina Sharest: You’ll still need identification to get on a ship.
Benito: Here you go.
Falthina Sharest: Benito... this says you’re a spaceport patrol trooper. You’re not allowed off-world while on duty.
Benito: Er, sorry, don’t know where that came from. Here’s my real ID.
Jim: While I was handing Qi’ra my lucky dice, I was actually stealthily lifting her ID! Now I handed it over.
Falthina Sharest: Qi’ra? That’s a girl’s name.
Benito: Oh, they misspelt it on my birth certificate. It’s actually with a C-H.
Falthina Sharest: Chi’ra?
Benito: Yeah, that’s it.
