Commentary by memnarch (who has not seen the movie)
Wait, where’d the speeder go? Did it get parked somewhere before Alberto tries to get back to... well, home I guess. I’m guessing those are sparks or welding flashes of some kind. That’d make for a good establishing shot of this place being made for shipbuilding.
And there’s a love interest as well. I give it 50-50 odds that it’s either unreciprocated and directed at Lady Proxima or it’s a more mutual interest and the person is someone under Proxima’s thumb. Hmm, and since Leia and Han get together in the original trilogy, I’m also going to guess that the love interest ends up dead by the end of the movie as well.

Jim: I was returning to the lair of Lady Proxima, a crime boss who enslaved street kids like me and got them to steal stuff for her.
Jim: I hesitated as an Imperial patrol went by with some Corellian hounds.
Jim: Big, nasty curs with slobbering drool dripping down their mangy chins.
Corey: Wait.
Jim: And you should have seen the hounds!
Corey: If you were free and had stolen a speeder, why would you go back to the hideout of the crime lord who enslaved you?
Jim: Crime Lady. And because I had a love interest!
Sally: Oooo-OOOO-ooo!! Go Han!
Jim: Only I was called Alberto now, remember.
