Commentary by memnarch (who has not seen the movie)
.......... Okay then! I guess that makes more sense if there's a love interest plot that's been happening on the movie side of the plot. Kissing is nowhere near the list of things that should have happened in a battle otherwise. That also handily explains why Rose would catch up to Finn and crash into his skimmer; she decided that Finn was more important than the Resistance. For some reason. Love makes you do strange things and all, but I would have thought that trying to save the Resistance would be a little more important than someone met like 12 hours ago.
And of course, Jim/Poe is doing dramatic things just because everyone else is. I wonder if his crash was shown in the movie. It probably wasn't in the middle of Finn and Roses' part if so.
Transcript
GM: Finn finds himself in the ruined cockpit of his speeder.
[SFX]: whoommmm... {the battering ram cannon targeting beam continues to build}
Finn: I climb out and look for Rose.
GM: Her vehicle lies 30 metres away, smoke billowing from it.
Finn: I run over.
[SFX]: whoommmmm...
Poe: I jump out of my wrecked speeder and slide dramatically into the infantry trench!
GM: Yours is perfectly okay.
[SFX]: sliiiiide...
Poe: Not any more!
GM: Rose is dazed.
Finn: Rose!
Rose: Did we do it? Did we win?
Finn: You stopped me from destroying the cannon. Now we could all die!
Rose: Yes. But not this day.
{Rose kisses Finn}
Finn: Wha? I’m... flattered, but... I don’t swing that way.
Rose: You really should try both ways. Why limit yourself?
Rose: Heck, why stick to one axis? Try a Wookiee.
Chewbacca: ... I keep an extra eye out when Finn’s around in future.
[SFX]: Ka-boom! {behind Finn and Rose the battering ram cannon fires and a huge explosion rocks the bunker blast door}
Rose: Actually, it might be this day.
