Some players like to comment on or complain about inconsistencies or illogical things in a game setting. (Think Ben or Pete.)
Other players like to run with them, no matter how strange. (Think Sally or Annie.)
This second way can often be more fun. If you tend to be the first type of player, consider doing a switch and trying to be the second type of player for a session, or a campaign. Besides being fun, it also has the bonus of potentially bamboozling your GM.

Yeah, okay, that's on me. I guess the planet isn't entirely dried up salt flats. If I hadn't seen Episode V, I probably would have complained about how nothing would be able to live where the average temperature is like -40° as well. That is a pretty neat looking salt fox.
This is a good start to the Crait battle. Confusion all around! Or at least on the Resistance side. I'll bet that the Resistance starts shooting and takes out both TIE fighters but damages the shuttle first as well, forcing it to crash land. That feels like it'd be the best action we could get before having an in-base talking scene of some kind and what's likely to be a ground offensive.
Transcript
GM: Looking out the fortress door, Leia sees a small group of ships incoming.
Leia: Well. The radar systems in this old Rebel base don’t seem to be working.
Leia: Close the blast door!
GM: Fox-like animals flee the approaching ships, slipping under the ponderously closing door.
C-3PO: Space foxes covered in crystallised sweat?
GM: ... Sure.
GM: Two PIE fighters are chasing the First Order shuttle that’s carrying Rose, Finn, and BB-8.
GM: But the Resistance doesn’t realise and thinks it’s three attacking ships!
Rose: We would, of course, have been sending a message to let them know we’re coming.
[SFX]: pow! pow!
[SFX]: kaboom!
Leia: Hot damn! This salt sure ruined our radios fast!
