Sometimes as a GM you're extremely tempted to tell the players not to do something. You wouldn't be a good GM if you never felt this urge occasionally.
But don't tell them as the GM. If you have a handy NPC present, you can have them provide some "impartial" advice. Seriously, if whatever it is the adventurers are discussing is so obviously disastrous, someone in the vicinity should have a pretty good chance of realising it too.
If you don't happen to have a handy NPC hanging around, you can provide some sort of environmental foreshadowing. They're planning to climb the Cliffs of Insanity with no precautions? Let a trickle of small rocks fall ominously from above. And they hear the screech of a giant predatory eagle. Who sounds hungry.

Ok, so there are limits to what the GM preps for. I suppose I should have expected that. But I'll agree with the GM as well; going into the slime pit (which makes more sense than being an Everything Bagel) isn't something I would have thought of as a sensible action either.
The GM might have a pretty good out here, though. I don't think it was ever stated that the slime pit was on this island. Now, it certainly seems like it is with the ocean spray and Rey immediately being soaked. But if the GM wants to have teleporting water be a thing, there's certainly no reason that the slime pit couldn't have teleported water onto Rey from a different planet as well.
To be clear though, I suspect that the slime pit is actually on the island and teleporting water isn't actually a thing. I still don't know why Rey would want to find it, but if that happened in the movie for some reason, we'll need a comic reason to go there as well. This at least seems like a perfectly reasonable way to get there.

Kylo Ren: The Dark Side of the Force is the pathway to many abilities some consider to be... awesome.
Rey: Yeah, but seems like I can’t access it.
Kylo Ren: You should go check out why the Dark Side rejected you.
Rey: What?
Kylo Ren: There must be a reason. And if there’s a reason, there must be—
Rey: A loophole!
Kylo Ren: The Dark Side loooves loopholes. Just saying.
Rey: The slime pit in my vision. It’s on this island. I can find it.
GM: Noo! You need to fight the temptation.
Rey: Then why make it so tempting? And why are you telling me what to do?
GM: Because I never planned for anyone to go in that pit. I didn’t prep anything.
Rey: Well. Honestly, that just makes me want to do it even more.
GM: Session break!
