People have all sorts of personalities. People in your game should run the gamut as well.
A trick—which we've probably mentioned before; it's hard to keep track after over 2000 strips—is to base NPC personalities on a character you know from fiction. Pick someone with a notable personality quirk, and just think of them whenever you are called on to play the part of that NPC. What would that character do, and how would they do it? That's your NPC in a nutshell.
Not only does this allow you to easily recall the personalities of lots of NPCs in your game world, but it also means they can be noticeably different from one another. (Assuming you pick characters with different quirks.)

Ooo! Another floor robot! I liked the little pointless one in Episode IV, and this looks like it's the new "Apple version"!
Anyway, still setting up the stage for the big opening fight it looks like. I'm really curious if we're going to get an explanation of how Hux (and presumably Kylo) have survived. In the movies, it's probably never explained and the directors just wanted to keep him around for some reason or another. Which, that's fair enough, as long as it doesn't happen again going into Episode IX at least. For the comic, I still think it'd be really neat if they were forcefully time travelled and that's why this large fleet wasn't available to defend the Peace Moon.
Also, as amusing as Peavey is for now, I still hope he gets flushed soon. And if I didn't know any better, I'd have suspected the Irregulars of making up his name just for the double joke.

GM: The First Order fleet amasses above D’Qar. Captain Edrison Peavey reports to Hux on the bridge of the Finalizer.
Captain Peavey: We’ve caught them with their pants down. <snicker>
General Hux: This is where we snuff out the Resistance once and for all. What assets can we bring to bear?
Captain Peavey: Captain Canady’s Fulminatrix will arrive soon. A space dreadnought bristling with atomic missiles.
General Hux: Excellent. Have him nuke the base from orbit, destroy their transports, and obliterate their fleet. Eradicate their command structure from top to bottom.
Captain Peavey: <snicker>
Rey: Wait. Hux survived and now Ben gets to command a dreadnought?
General Hux: Yes, but I have to deal with this Captain Peavey, who seems a bit potty.
Captain Peavey: <snicker>
Rey: That’s just a bonus!
