Half a pincer is better than none!

Although that may not necessarily have made The Art of War*, there's at least some truth to it. In the same sense that half a pair of scissors is better than none.

* Interestingly, after writing this we learnt that Sun Tzu in fact mentions the pincer movement tactic in The Art of War, however only as a theoretical possibility. He in fact advises against trying it in a real battle, because the defending army is likely to flee before the movement can be completed.

Holy cow. Just like Kylo Ren and the First Order here! Sun Tzu totally predicted this scene of the comic!

It just leaves? Really? All those X-wings just let the enemy ships leave? A little teaser of a space fight and that's it? Now I hope there was a radio transmission or something in the movie, otherwise this is the biggest disappointment I have in the movie so far. This is probably something else I'd gloss over or downplay if I'd watched the movie (and had all the excitement of seeing Star Wars again), but it's been almost 20 months since Episode VII started, which is a heck of a long time to stay constantly excited.

Having a Resistance dropship show up.... I suppose that makes sense if it was intended as a rescue or recovery mission. If Han has been away from the Resistance for a while as the comic implies, then they could have shown up to try and bring him back in to fight more as well.

Chewbacca: Firstly, it’s one of ours. Secondly, we have a ship.
Chewbacca: And thirdly, it has ship-mounted cannons and appears to be brimming with armed troops.
