Episode 2062: Between Two Rocks at a Slow Pace

<<FIRST     <PREVIOUS     NEXT>     LATEST>>

Backing into danger is such a commonly seen thing in movies and TV shows that it's almost expected for some of the less danger-savvy characters to do it at some point, particularly in horror stories.

In a game setting it's harder to visualise and make use of, but look for opportunities. After all, if players don't say they're not backing into danger, then maybe they are.

Ohhhhhhhh dear. So much for BB-8 and Rey coming to the rescue then; Rey's going to need a rescue herself now. We're almost up to 250 comics for Episode VII, but things still look like we're 2/3s the way through or so just going by how much trouble everyone seems to be in. I suppose Episode V had a similar appearance of hopelessness, but that was at least after Episode IV (originally just called Star Wars at the time I think) and Lando was around as an ally. Here, we've only got BB-8 and Darth Kanata not shown as pinned down yet, and neither seem like the type to be able to pull a small army out of thin air.

Hmmmm. Giving the comics a quick reread, we do have these two calling into Princess; presumably it's a similar short scene in-movie and not just a 3-6 second bit of flavor. Everyone else from the original trilogy has shown up, if only for exceedingly brief moments. I can't see Disney skipping on a cameo for Princess Leia (Queen now?) of some kind, so that could allow for the Resistance to swoop in to save everyone using that as a small portion of foreshadowing.

...

That blaster still looks really silly with its extra-large chamber and tiny grip. Maybe if it's shown to actually be better than other types in the future I'll be able to give it a pass, but right now... I'd have tried to steal one of the troopers' weapons as soon as I could.
