That’s definitely noncommittal. And with how Chi’ra just stabbed Qi’ra in the back, I’d be shocked if desertion didn’t happen during the training. If not sooner.
Is this actually how Han Solo is going to get off-planet? I know this is about one tenth the way through the comic set, but escaping Corellia is about the only plot point so far. Maybe we’ll have Proxima send more minions after Han later for reasons, but that’d involve them somehow getting off the planet as well.

Jim: I approached recruitment officer Drawd Munbrin. Ben, can you read after my line?
Chi’ra: Hi, I want to join the army or whatever.
Drawd Munbrin: That’s pretty noncommittal. How do I know you won’t desert as soon as we get you offworld, train you, have you fight three campaigns for us, and leave you for dead on some godforsaken pile of dirt somewhere?
Chi’ra: Oh, no, I’m very loyal.
Drawd Munbrin: Good enough for me. You’re in. What’s your name, son?
Chi’ra: Chi’ra.
Drawd Munbrin: Isn’t that a girl’s name?
Chi’ra: This is why I’m so angry and want to kill people for the State.
Drawd Munbrin: Aha. You’ll fit right in with our sociopathic regime of military might.
[SFX]: stamp! {Munbrin stamps Chi’ra’s papers}
Drawd Munbrin: Good luck, Chi’ra. We’ll have you massacring innocents in no time.
