Commentary by memnarch (who has not seen the movie)
I like the color blue. Pretty much any shade of it can look very nice on its own. But I’m seeing now that it really needs proper usage to make it nice to look at. The lighting here? Really sucks. I’d have thought there was just one alien accosting Alberto here if nothing was said, I would have probably thought Qi’ra was part of the goon group, and it took a third read and the transcript anyway to realize there are three alien goons talking.
At least we’re going to see Proxima soon. Most beings in Star Wars tend towards the human-like, so she’ll be something close to that. She’ll definitely be imposing in some way though; a crime boss doesn’t stay the boss on a planet like this if they’re nice and unintrusive.
Alberto probably still has the space-coke Coaxium, so I wonder why the goons didn’t catch that. At least, I think they didn’t catch that. The lighting makes it really tough to tell. It also seems weird to have Qi’ra be left behind.
Transcript
Jim: Qi’ra and I headed off to go to Coronet Spaceport.
Jim: However, we ran into some of Proxima’s goons. So we turned around... and ran into more goons!
Jim: This is Moloch and his two sidekicks, Syke and Rebolt. Corey, you can be Moloch; Sally and Pete, Syke and Rebolt. Here’s copies of the script.
Alberto: Moloch, hi...
Moloch: You nameless scum.
Alberto: I don’t know who you mean. My name’s Alberto.
Moloch: Uh huh. Proxima totally wants to see you. Syke, grab him!
Syke: Got him! Rebolt, check him for weapons.
[SFX]: pat pat pat
Rebolt: He’s clean. By which I mean he has no weapons, not that he’s literally clean.
Rebolt: You know, because we live in a sewer and all.
Moloch: As for you, Qi’ra, mind your own business.
Moloch: Because I’m an alien and don’t understand your human emotion called “love”.
