Gifts serve a significant function in many societies and cultures. So gift-giving traditions could have interesting roles to play in a gaming setting. Some possible ideas:
- People give gifts that are magically recorded memories of happy times spent together. The recipient can relive those times by holding the gift and concentrating.
- Gifts given in any year must be a specific colour, which rotates through a cycle over several years. Giving a gift of the wrong colour is a grave faux pas.
- A tradition is to give a gift that is a fiendishly difficult puzzle. Some physical item such as a puzzle box that can only be opened after much contemplation and thought. What is inside the box is immaterial - it is the gift of testing one's mind that is important.
- If given a gift, the recipient has a year and a day to reciprocate with a return gift of greater value. Failure to do so is considered a serious insult.
- People gift each other moments of their lives. Literally. You can pass some of your lifespan on to another person.
- Before setting out on any hazardous journey, it is expected that the traveller will give away all their worldly possessions that cannot be carried to close friends, so that there will be no arguing over who inherits them if they fail to return. If the traveller does return, anyone who received a gift must return it in a more worn condition, or buy them a brand new copy.
- Gifts are only exchanged by physical challenges. The giver must defeat the recipient in a ritual combat in order to force them to accept the gift. If they cannot defeat the recipient, they must live with the embarrassment of a rejected gift.

Ah! It's not great news, but that's at least some comic-based info that the Resistance is trying to get more people to help fight. Plus, this sets up a possible Cavalry rescue for when they get stomped on more after setting up down on Crait!
This is just Jim being goofy for the comic, right? No weird romance attempt at the moment in the movie? Poe's actions have more of a "I didn't know you were alive" vibe to me now. Perhaps that's because I realize Poe never actually took a shot when he hijacked the bridge and the door was blasted open. The best reason I can think of for that is that he was surprised by Leia's reappearance. Plus, Poe's got a serious expression, and I think Jim's characters would look sillier, or at least smile, when he's acting like this.

Larma D’Acy: Yes, ma’am.
Poe: Oh, speaking of intimate relationships, there’s something I want you to have.
Leia: My secret decoder bracelet. I was wondering where that went.
Poe: Great gift, right!
Leia: Poe, you’re a hopeless romantic.
Poe: Yeah!
Leia: I mean you’re hopeless at it.
Admiral Holdo: Oh, to be young and feel love’s keen sting.
Poe: Yeah, I think I preferred the slap across the face.
Leia: The night is still young.
