"Perfect Hair" makes for a good minor perk for a character. No matter what dust-ups, physical situations, or just-getting-out-of-bed situations your hero gets in, they aways emerge with immaculately coiffed locks.
This is a fantasy after all.

Wait, SERIOUSLY?? Wow, that's a heck of a callback. Like, that was over 60-70 years ago in-game and about 6 or 7 years real time for the players! I haven't had the experience of a game running off and on that long, but the GM for the one game I do know that's gone that long would have trouble remembering that far back without assistance! Sally and the GM have got a heck of a memory to pull this detail out and use it.
I suppose we haven't had nanobots show up in the game setting, so keeping styled hair under a helmet could be very difficult to pull off without shapeshifting. Alternatively, it could be a special helmet that always works to keep the hair in shape. Or just lots and lots of space-hair-spray.
Hey wait a minute; this would mean that Kylo's father would be the original Han Solo! Jabba even commented on the new shape! The annotation for the sepia panels' comic even mentions that Greedo is "now canonically described as being Greedo the Elder, the father of Greedo the Younger (the one Han Solo shot)"! This is so like the Irregulars to make long callbacks and flip things around. This lines up so well! And this could be why Kylo is usually wearing a helmet; after 60-70 years, he needs a new splanch organ to maintain a proper shapeshift for long periods of time.

(No Name): Anakin attacked you when you were a boy? When did this happen?
Kylo Ren: It was after the Boonta Eve race that he won, when he was nine years old.
Kylo Ren: Jabba the Hutt had asked my father who he thought would win the race.
Kylo Ren: Sebulba was the red hot favourite and logical choice, so naturally my father told him so.
Kylo Ren: But Anakin won. There was no way he could possibly have had skills and reflexes like that naturally.
Kylo Ren: I knew he must have cheated and I told him so.
Kylo Ren: But even then his temper was barely controlled. He punched and kicked and slammed me to the ground.
{flashback scenes of Anakin fighting on Tatooine}
[SFX]: krunch!!
GM: The alien boy lies motionless. He’s dead.
Anakin: He said I cheated in the pod race!
{end flashback}
Kylo Ren: His freakish strength unnerved me. To avoid further beating, I played dead. I shapeshifted into my own corpse.

Kylo Ren: How else do you think I can remove that tiny helmet and end up with this perfectly styled enormous hair?
