Sometimes defence is the best form of offence.
Imagine if person-to-person combat could use siege tactics. One person could dig in and defend, and then hold out against a lone attacker for a week or more, using travel rations from their backpack to survive while the attacker tries to starve them out.

Depends on the kind of fight, Pete. Sometimes you just need to remove the reason to be attacked or focus on something else. Against a puzzle boss or an overpoweringly strong enemy, attacking head on could be the worst thing to do. And sometimes, like here, you just need to defend long enough for reinforcements to arrive. That's probably the plasma crossbow judging by the flip the blast caused, but Yanni was using it last. I hope he doesn't take Zeppo's name; that wouldn't bode well for survivability.
Finn is really lucky he didn't lose something when failing to block the electro-tonfa. Or when getting thrown backwards and falling on the ground. And with rolling a 2 in game; that's almost bad enough to hit himself. Finn should probably stick to blaster fights in the future with luck and skill like this. Oh, and not give away his blaster to begin with.
