Episode 1590: I Love Her Close Horizons

As a GM, you sometimes need to drop subtle hints to get the PCs to do something sensible.

You know you've really achieved roleplaying excellence when you have to do the same for NPCs.

[Reminder: Our guest commentators have not seen Rogue One. Part of the fun is seeing how their untainted impressions re-interpret the movie through the lens of our comic.]

We have a lovely wall of rumble coming towards us. And a lovely wall of rubble. An uplifting experience indeed.

Now, if I understand the behavior of shockwaves properly, that wall of certain doom should be approaching at a good fraction of the speed of sound. How fast will K-2SO have to go to catch up with them, and give them a chance to board, before the rubble buries them?

Well, Cassian's quite nice. Not so sure about Bria, K-2 or Chirrut-Baze, but they're at least not scum.

This guy could also be a candidate for Jim's character switch, in the event that he doesn't jump right to Bria. Taking someone with loyalty to the Empire and roleplaying their change of heart would be a pretty good start for Jim's role-playing journey.

Also, I don't want him to kill Bria yet. I like her.

K-2SO: ... I've calculated according to your information that you're directly west-north-south of the city. On my way!
Bodhi: I'm not getting on any ship with you Rebel scum.
[SFX]: rumble... RUMBLE... RUMBLE...
Chirrut: Okay. Bye! {runs past}
Cassian: We're actually quite nice.
Bria: But it's your call. Enjoy the shock wave. I'm sure it'll be an uplifting experience.
{beat}
Bodhi: {starts running after them} Okay, but I'm getting off at the first Imperial base you stop at!
