Episode 1345: That Perfect Girl is Gone

People should totally do this more.

Do some research prior to a game session and think of a likely scenario that might happen. Then think of an appropriate song from a popular movie or theatre production, possibly tweaking the lyrics a little bit. Learn the words really well and practice singing it.

At an appropriate point in the game, bust out into song! For bonus points, have a recording of the music cued up and ready on your phone or whatever, and play that as backing. We absolutely guarantee that this will be the coolest thing that has happened to your fellow players and GM that day.

Assuming you pick the right song.

[SFX]: Pow! Pow! {trooper fires at Leia}
Leia: Luke! I need some help!
GM: You've become separated in the chase.
{beat, Leia, frozen in contemplation}
Leia: {singing} It's funny how some distance makes Lu-u-uke seem small...
[SFX]: zoooomm!!
Leia: {singing} And the blue milk that suppressed me can't get to me at all!
Luke: Oh god no...
Leia: {singing} It's time to see what I can do. To test the limits and break through...
Leia: Force Distract!
GM: Hmm. This is the first time you've actually tried to use the Force. Roll twice.
Leia: 12. And... 2.
GM: You've lost control of the bike. What do you do?
Leia: I...
Luke: Don't do it. You're better than this.
Leia: {singing} Let it go!
Luke: Noooooo!!
