Catching a falling person is one of those things you see done all the time in fiction, but which is actually really, really hard in reality. People get killed when other people fall on them. And if someone is falling from more than 3 or 4 metres, even if you catch them one of you is probably going to end up injured at the very least.

Of course you can ignore all of this for a game! Dramatic licence and all that.

Lando: There's some drunkard hanging on that collector! He's gonna damage it!
Chewbacca: That is Luke.
Lando: Oh.
Chewbacca: I shall endeavour to manoeuvre beneath him. You may extricate him from the dorsal hatch.
[SFX]: pssshhh... {Lando goes up and opens the hatch}
{Luke falls, Lando grabs him}
Lando: Luke, you got some 'splainin' to do.
Luke: There was a watershlide! With lights and funny voices!
Lando: Okay, son, you've had enough.
Luke: And no water!! What's the shtory with that?
Lando: Yeah... I have no idea why we installed that thing.
