Episode 363: Happy Feat

<<FIRST     <PREVIOUS     NEXT>     LATEST>>

Dice superstition is, indeed, just superstition. Dice customs, however, are deadly serious and can mean life or death for your character.

For every bad event, there is something you can do to undo the bad luck that you've just accumulated. It's not always obvious or logical. But it works. Or at least, it works some of the time. Which is better than none of the time - just imagine how bad things would be if you hadn't performed your luck-reversing action!

Transcript

GM: The acklay attacks.
Obi-Wan: What's an acklay, exactly?
Padmé: It's a breed of giant penguin.
Obi-Wan: Ixnay on the acklay of owledgenay...
Padmé: What?
GM: It's a 4 metre tall crustacean with dagger-like fangs and razor-sharp spikes on each of its six powerful claws.
GM: Obi-Wan, make a Dodge roll. At -4 because of your chains.
[SFX]: Ryyaarrrk!
Padmé: Pity we don't have some of Pete's pre-rolled dice.
Obi-Wan: Don't be silly, that won't work. I just forgot to cover my dice when you grappled that insect in the factory. I simply need to touch it to my left ear, like so.
Anakin: Much more sensible.
Obi-Wan: I sense where it will strike and position my chains there. 17.
[SFX]: Ryyaarrrk!
[SFX]: Kr-chunk! {the acklay smashes Obi-Wan's chains apart}
Anakin: Hmm. Left ear, was it?
