In some games, such as Toon: The Cartoon Roleplaying Game, you can actually earn roleplaying point awards for doing things that render other players or the GM speechless. That's based on the principle that they are comedy games, and making the other players fall over themselves laughing so hard that they become incoherent is part of the point.
Unfortunately, some people can generate the other form of speechless. Which is not worth points.
