Legacies are important. At least, in games they certainly can be. Even if just because your grandfather was a great hero or an evil necromancer that doesn't necessarily mean you must turn out the same way, you still need to live in the shadow of their reputation. Maybe people will assume that you must be a great hero because you carry a significant name, only for you to not quite live up to it. Or introducing yourself with the name of your tyrannical ancestor might make people wary of you.
Think about not just the reputations of the current crop of PCs, but also of the reputations of their ancestors. If they could possibly come into play anywhere, then give the past a chance to impact the present in some way.

I dunno about corruption. I think I could see an argument for it, especially with the giant temple they had, but laziness seems a more reasonable thing to accuse them of. That's a big part of the nature of stories with extraordinary people and society in fiction isn't it? Evil acts, Good reacts? The Jedi got used to the Sith never being around, so they stopped being good at reacting. Then they all got blindsided by a Sith that minored in politics.
That is an excellent last point by Snoke. I think I might have mentioned it before, but I am expecting Rey to lose a limb at some point. The parallels that could be made to Luke or Anakin seem way too strong to just ignore that possibility. And hopefully it's just a hand if so; Kylo's lightsaber's pseudo-guard looks way too close to her shoulder at the moment.

Rey: You’ll never defeat the spirit of the Jedi!
Snoke: The spirit of the Jedi is corruption.
Snoke: Recall the ancient prophecy of the Chosen One who would bring balance to the Force?
Snoke: Your grandfather, Anakin. He ensured the rise of the Dark Side. And your grandmother, Padmé Amidala, almost completed his opus.
Snoke: The Amidala name dominates your dark destiny.
Rey: My father never turned to the Dark Side!
Snoke: Eh. Like prophecies, evil can skip a generation.
Snoke: But you have a second legacy... Mara Jade.
Rey: Dunno what you’re talking about.
Snoke: Your thoughts betray you. Yes, I know of your mother. Nute Gunray was wise to engineer her to bring you to this point.
Snoke: Now his triumph is complete. You cannot possibly avoid turning to the Dark Side!
Rey: The Dark Side doesn’t want me!!
Snoke: Hmm. Maybe if we chop a hand off first.
