If you're going to fake-betray your allies in order to get something you need from the enemy, there's a temptation to give the enemy false information, so that it's of no real value to them. The risk is that they'll discover it's false information and realise that you're playing them for fools. So it might be better to give them real information. Corollary: The more info the better! You really want to be absolutely convincing, so what better way than to actually betray your allies?

Yep, that's a Jim plan all right. A ludicrous mess of an idea that gets more convoluted the more it gets examined. Now we just need a larger marine animal to attempt an appearance and it'll be complete.
Deluded DJ may be, even if jumping to lightspeed is impossible, it still wouldn't do to underestimate the damage ramming with a ship can do. Especially ramming in a suitably dramatic moment! I can't see the movie changing that, not when it's both dramatic and a downer win like, well, pretty much all the other space fights so far. Hmmm. Maybe not happening in the next comic though. I bet we need to see Finn and Rose get threatened more substantially first. That'd make for a much more dramatic last minute save!

Rey: Let me get this straight.
Rey: Jim single-handedly enacted a backup plan. Which ruined... the current plan.
Rey: So now you need... the backup plan.
Rey: But! Only because of... the backup plan.
Rey: A backup plan which, incidentally, Corey already figured out can’t possibly work.
DJ: I also told them the Radish is going to ram their fleet at lightspeed.
Rose: You what?!
Rey: I was about to say, I expected more from a Jim plan.
DJ: Yeah! More info, more cash!
General Hux: Ahem. Yes, well. He’s clearly deluded. We all know that accelerating to lightspeed is impossible with ships in the way.
General Hux: Nevertheless, we paid him off handsomely for your capture.
Finn: You’re a moneygrubbing shyster, DJ.
DJ: Finn, let me learn you a word of advice. Nihil tam munitum quod non expugnari pecunia possit.
Finn: Well, that’s useful.
DJ: Cool! I was afraid you might not get the clear hint.
