When you're in a tough situation, with no obvious solutions, begin by listing your assets.
Heck, also list your liabilities. When things get desperate, even negatives start to offer up possibilities that might get you out of trouble.
This is not as facetious as it might sound. Anything out of the ordinary might possibly be turned into something useful in a pinch. If your barbarian has a tendency to lose their temper at the drop of a hat, maybe you can use that to your advantage. If your weapons have been corroded by a rust monster, maybe the flakes of rust can be put to use. Setbacks breed creative solutions, be open to them.

Brute force? If that's the second main resource, the Resistance is screwed. Two, maybe three or four ships doesn't qualify for brute force; it almost doesn't qualify for small force! When there's a fleet shown the size of the First Order's, then we can upgrade the Resistance to having brute force. Hm. Maybe that's what this session is about? Explaining that they're going to need to go find more ships? I can't picture how that would be presented in dialogue, but that'd at least make sense as a current goal.
Anyway, I'd say the second main resource the Resistance has is luck. Clearly, they should stage a raid on the lucky dice factory Han's (and now Luke's) lucky dice came from and give a set to everyone to have even more luck! If you're lucky enough, you don't even need to worry about the enemy attacking as your dodging rolls will be good enough to avoid everything. And that's assuming the enemy doesn't just blow themselves up with all the luck they're missing!

Admiral Holdo: We’re in a no-win scenario. But I don’t believe in those. I’ll bring every resource we have to bear.
Edgar: What resources do we have?
Admiral Holdo: Ignorance! Turn that into knowledge, and we have something.
Admiral Holdo: Kylo Ren had us dead to rights. Why did he stop attacking?
Caluan Ematt: We intercepted a transmission. Ren had a lot of admin to do for the First Order’s retail business.
Admiral Holdo: Hmmm. Lucky for us. If only Nute held a big sale, that might really distract them.
Admiral Holdo: I want us to think about our ignorance. What don’t we know? And work it out.
Edgar: We gotta think to come up with plans now?
BB-8: It is the conventional method.
Edgar: Bah!
Admiral Holdo: That brings me to our second main resource: Brute force.
