Yeah, characters in roleplaying games should definitely be keeping their wills up to date. Traditionally, if a PC died, the remaining members of their adventuring party would split their possessions. You don't want that +3 sword and +2 plate mail going to anyone else, after all.
So if you're playing a character, actually write out a will! And if the worst comes to pass, you can hand it over to your fellow party members who failed to save you, and watch their faces as they realise you've left all your good loot to some family member they've never heard of.

Chewbacca continues to be the most sensible character. It'd be boring to have all of the characters act like that of course, but Ben plays the Straight Man very well. Especially when Jim is around in gaming mode. I'm pretty sure I saw Chewie's portrait on a Blu-Ray cover at some point; maybe he'll end up sticking around and be Finn's sidekick or something? Ben could do with a Team Good-Guy character, and it seems like Chewie's returning the favor to Finn while heading off with the medics.
I really doubt Han had any sort of useful will. For a real will, it would need to be redone any time the individual has a name change, or at least updated to reflect the new name at the very least. With all of the casual identity theft, and especially how short some of them were, I really doubt that updating documentation like that was high on the priority list. But if there is a will of some kind, or even just a message of "Rey gets these things"? It would be extremely amusing if that gun Rey got before meeting Kanata and lost at some point was the best item.
Oh, and Corey? I don't think your sarcasm is going to get through to Jim. There's no overlap with geophysics.
