If the subtleties of Hacking fail, there are always more drastic measures that can be taken.
This is often the case with other skills as well. If Begging fails, there's always Pickpocketing. If Diplomacy fails, there's always Bribery. If Persuasion fails, there's always Intimidation. If Intimidation fails, there's always Brawling.
Actually, Brawling is a pretty good proxy for any other skill. If Begging fails, there's always Brawling. If Diplomacy fails, there's always Brawling. If Persuasion fails, there's always Brawling.

It looks like the total party kill is about to start.
K is down. K has made sure that the vault door is going to stay closed. Even if our heroes managed to get the Death Star plans (sorry, Peace Moon plans), they aren't going to get out of there.
If that security vault is well designed, there will not be radio reception out from the inside. So naturally, there will be.
Since we know that they manage to get the plans off planet by radio before dying, that's the next thing that will happen to this set of characters. And then, they have another set of characters to play.
Clearly, Mon Mothma has managed to pull off a Pete, and has sacrificed 3 pawns.

Corey: {present day} Wait. How could you have Berserker Rage?
Sally: {present day} How couldn't I? I was a combat droid.
Corey: {present day} But, but... adrenaline...
Sally: {present day} It's probably midi-chlorians.
[SFX]: Pow! Pow! Pow!
GM: You've killed most of the troopers but you're on -24 hit points and your Rage expires next round. And you failed to get Cassian and Bria out of the vault.
K-2SO: I'll implement a hardware lock so the troopers can't get them!
GM: With your Hacking skill?
K-2SO: No.
K-2SO: A brute force attack.
[SFX]: Smaash!!! {K-2SO smashes the computer terminal console in the guard room}
[SFX]: Kapoom!!! {It explodes in a shower of sparks}
K-2SO: My only regret is that I didn't...
K-2SO: shoot...
