The "Come on, we need to get out of here" effect can be used to cut short almost anything the PCs want to accomplish, but which the GM would prefer them not to (for story reasons, or whatever). Simply have the place become too dangerous to loiter around in, and make it clear that they have to move away, at top speed, NOW, or else face doom.
If the imminent arrival of massed mooks with weapons doesn't convince them, maybe a collapsing building, or a tsunami of lava will do the trick. A tsunami of lava with lava-sharks with lava-beams on their heads. Whatever it takes.
[Reminder: Our guest commentators have not seen Rogue One. Part of the fun is seeing how their untainted impressions re-interpret the movie through the lens of our comic.]
The upsides of an Empathic Link are also its downsides:
- You can't be interrupted, but... you also can't be interrupted.
- Your familiar/companion knows your every feeling, but... they also know your every feeling.
- You can see through each other's eyes, but... you can also see through each other's eyes.
- You can always find each other but... you can also always find each other.
And so on.
On the plus side, when/if they do find an evac ship, there will be plenty of empty space!

"Innocent bystanders"? They expect that to work?
Perhaps a better question: the security guards don't recognize these faces? What kind of high-security weapons research base operates from the viewpoint of: "We don't know you, so we'll ask to see who you are and if you know anything?"
Still, it's very much like PCs to say that they will bring someone back to life so that they can kill them themselves. After all, Bria is justifiably upset - someone just did a kill steal on her.

Bria: You can't die on me now! I was just about to kill you!
Bria: I resuscitate him!
Cassian: Bria!
Bria: Cassian, help me save him!
Cassian: He's dead, Bria. Come on, we need to get out of here. {drags her away}
Trooper 1: Hey, you! Hold it right there!
Trooper 2: Did you see who caused this explosion?
Cassian: Uh, no... we're... innocent bystanders. Could you... direct us to the nearest evac ship?
Trooper 2: Hold on, I'll check—
[SFX]: Rattatatatata! {Baze mows down all the troopers with his heavy gun}
{beat, Cassian glares at Baze and Chirrut}
Chirrut: Sorry. Empathic Link. It's faster than speech.
