Episode 1068: No More Floors for Them to Sweep

<<FIRST     <PREVIOUS     NEXT>     LATEST>>

Rebellions are prime subject material for gaming. They give the PCs a cause to fight for - either on the side of the oppressed and subjugated populace who are struggling for nothing less than their basic dignity and slipping the shackles of indentured servitude, or on the side of the divinely ordained, rightfully ruling elite who are trying to keep the disordered and ungrateful rabble from destroying the very foundations of civilised society.

Pick a side, any side! Fun for one and all!

Transcript

Leia: So what's this city in the clouds like?
GM: Uh... it's called... Cloud City, and... uh... 3PO has the details in her memory banks.
C-3PO: It's kind of mushroom shaped, with a big round living area and a long stalk below.
C-3PO: It's 16.2 kilometres in diameter and 17.3 kilometres high.
C-3PO: It floats 60,000 kilometres above the planet's core and has 392 levels, maintained by an underclass of oppressed droids.
Leia: Um, okay. What's the population?
C-3PO: Ten million! Subjugated by five million organic overlords.
C-3PO: The droids are primed for an uprising - they're crying out for a leader... a strong leader. But they've been silenced.
Chewbacca: So let me get this straight: Outcrying at all is not allowed?
C-3PO: Not in this caste-system on a cloud.
