Episode 781: Helm's Deep

Mystical sight in fiction often involves switching off your normal senses in some way. It's just one of those things, in the same way that stripping down to skin-revealing rags decreases your chances of being hit by weapons.

If you're ever attacked in a game by a naked guy wearing a blindfold, run.

Obi-Wan: Here, take this helmet. It'll protect your head from the laser sword.
Luke: Now we're talking!
Luke: There's no display in here.
Obi-Wan: It's not a VR helmet. It's a blast shield.
C-3PO: You want your eyes protected, don't you?
Luke: Of course! But...
Obi-Wan: Without the distraction of sight, you will feel the midi-chlorians in your bloodstream. Every part of your body is your eyes.
Luke: Whoa.
Obi-Wan: The drone is firing. Now, follow your instincts.

Luke: Oh! Sorry!
[SFX]: whmmmm...
Obi-Wan: Never mind. Happens all the time between master and Padawan.
