Creating a diversion is always a good tactic.
As long as you're not the one creating the diversion, that is. If you are, better make sure you're buffed out, armed to the teeth, and get all the relevant experience points for both combat and good roleplaying.

Leia: This masked fellow and his cronies are obviously after the plans. We can't take them to Alderaan; they'll be expecting that now.
R2-D2: Alderaan? How about escaping with our circuits intact first?
R2-D2: {small} And organs in your case.
Leia: I'll create a diversion. You and 3PO need to get these plans to Senator Binks on Naboo.
R2-D2: I'm not leaving you here. The party doesn't split.
GM: Uh huh.
Leia: Look, the problems of two people and two droids don't amount to a hill of space pears in this crazy galaxy. Captain Antilles and I will meet you on Naboo.
R2-D2: You mean the mission is more important than your life?
Leia: That's what I just said. Seeya.
{Leia leaves}
R2-D2: Okay. Bye then. I guess.
