Keeping a log of game events is a good way to make sure you can remember important details in later sessions. It can also serve as a rudimentary narrative for reconstructing the story if you decide it might make worthwhile reading for other people - or for blogging.
You can take this to another level by having your character also keep a log or diary in-game. This is not as weird as it may seem. Information can be a valuable asset, and recording knowledge and events may turn out to be profitable for your character one day.
Particularly if the events you're recording are the Queen's dalliances with knights of the realm, while the King remains blissfully unaware.

Obi-Wan: Padmé's meetings with other Senators have gone... about as well as expected.
Obi-Wan: And ever since R2 recovered the Peace Moon plans from Dookû's ship... well, before that point I never had any doubts about R2's loyalty.
Obi-Wan: The party's breaking down. Everything falls on me now.
Obi-Wan: I'm the only one I can trust to do... what really needs to be done.
GM: So... you're changing course to Naboo, then?
Obi-Wan: Hey, I'm the only one with a sensible reason not to be on Naboo!
