Many roleplayers like peppering their speech during games with clichés and quotes from various sources. Some even manage to do it while not breaking character. Some topics are more popular than others and lend themselves more easily to non-stop references and joking around.
Woe betide if you should ever run a game involving knights questing for the Holy Grail.

GM: You see the assassin is a woman.
Anakin: Cherchez la femme, huh? Come on, spill the beans. Why'd you do it?

Zam Wessel: Sorry, I've run out of cop show clichés.
