Villains should always have subordinates who can remind them of all the silly little things that they really should think of doing. Those are the subordinates worth having for a villain.
Imagine if only Oddjob had been able to talk and say to Goldfinger, "Okay, now that you've captured James Bond, instead of slicing him in half with a laser or handcuffing him to an atomic bomb, just shoot him. Right now!"
Admiral Piett: Shall I fire on the compromised fighters, my Lord?
Darth Vader: If you hit the Falcon, the next missile to be fired will be you.
Admiral Piett: Well, look, I don't know what so-called plan you have in that helmet of yours. Your Force stuff isn't doing any good now, is it?
Admiral Piett: I'll show you how we capture fleeing ships.
Admiral Piett: Alert all commands. Ready for the tractor beam.
Lieutenant Venka: Tractor beam engaged, sir.
Admiral Piett: Interesting fact: Not even their hyperdrive can get them away now.
Darth Vader: Your competence and your impertinence continue to maintain an unsteady equilibrium.
Admiral Piett: Thank you, Lord Facemask.
Darth Vader: Carry on.
