Episode 420: Shooting the Tubes

Science fiction and fantasy games present unique opportunities for character interaction. In the everyday world, most objects are inanimate. In a world with ubiquitous robotic technology, or a world with magic, you can give anything a voice and a personality.

Of course you should not go overboard with this. Only use it when it will really inconvenience or annoy the PCs.

GM: The missiles close on you rapidly.
[SFX]: Whoooosh!
Obi-Wan: Dodge!
GM: Pilot roll.
Obi-Wan: 18!
{the missiles miss Obi-Wan and Anakin}
[SFX]: Whoooosh!
Missile 1: Bummer. Swing a 180, guys.
Missile 4: Right on.
Anakin: The missiles talk?
Missile 1: We are smart missiles.
[SFX]: Whoooosh!
Missile 2: Sorry about this dude, just doing what we gotta do.
Obi-Wan: Oh, marvellous.
